busy

Alrighty, I am not dead, just busy. I know many of you (2 out of the 5 people who read this) were worried that my blogging career had ended so shortly after it had began, but I am back.

We are not a very good baseball team. There I said it. BUT... it does seem like we are in every game and are one hit away from breaking the game open or taking a lead. Those hits just don't seem to happen. We did get a win tonight, getting 2 runs on 2 hits. Yea, that's right; we won a ballgame while only getting 2 hits! I wish that were the case all the time because we would be undefeated, haha!

Here is an old blog that I never got a chance to post. Tomorrow I will write a little bit longer and tell ya about the past 2 weeks or so.

Today was a pretty normal day… IF your normal day is working out with a Mr. JEFF BAGWELL! He is a roving hitting instructor with the Astros and he visits all the minor league teams to assist the team’s hitting coach. He is still a big guy, but you can kinda tell that his right shoulder is smaller than his left. He had to retire because of arthritis that he had in his right shoulder (his throwing arm). He had had a couple of surgeries on the shoulder and had made a couple of comeback attempts. He played a series in Corpus Christi during the 2005 season when I was with San Antonio. I think that he also may have tried again in 2006, but I am not sure. Anyway, for the post-game spread, he bought the team “surf-and-turf”: lobster and steak! I heard that he did that for all the minor league teams when he was rehabbing; apparently he really likes lobster and steak, haha! It was a treat for us and it was neat to have one of the best Houston Astros ever, one of the “Killer B’s” in our clubhouse. He may have had something to do with the 3-run walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth the our second baseman Danny Klassen hit to beat New Orleans, haha!
