And the definition of "insanity" is what again?

I believe it is to do the same things over and over and expect a different outcome. Huh... apparently our friends on Capitol Hill don't know this. What happened with the mortgage companies and banks who leaned too far over their skis when they were bailed out? Did they hop right back on their feet? Was everything back to normal? Nope, the money just inflated an artificial balloon and it popped. I found this site very interesting:

http://www.financialweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090108/REG/901089976/1036

Looks like all the companies that were bailed out ARE STILL DOWN and sinking as we speak. So, what can we expect from the other $350 billion the Obama is begging Congress for? Basically it is going to be flushed down the toilet. Printing up money to give to these companies who were either too stupid or too arrogant to see this problem coming years away and still runs their companies into the ground will not solve this problem. Hell, Obama has even said this himself, yet he is pulling for the bail out money like his kids are pulling for that new puppy. All it does is prolong this "recession". The economy has natural up and down turns that need to be ridden out instead of "stimulated" with useless paper that we will soon be calling the American dollar. If the government had the power to stimulate the economy, there would never be recessions or depressions... EVER! The people of this country stimulate the economy. It doesn't seem like anyone with any political power understands economics... or they just don't want to.

What happened to capitalism in this country? What happened to people being personably responsible for their actions? Everyone now has their hand out, waiting for the government to fill it. Hard-working people are being taxed to bail out these companies whose executives make more than most of us could only fantasize about making. When is this government going to get back to being "of the people, for the people, by the people"?

I am by no means making this a political blog, nor will I do too many more posts like this. I just got really frustrated today and felt the need to vent... thank you for your time.

Helluva first blog for the new year, aye?
